The former wife of Donald Trump Jr announced that her latest test results came back clear, about six months after she was first diagnosed.

Vanessa Trump, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr, has said she is now cancer-free following a breast cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

Trump, 48, shared the news in a short video posted on Friday to the Instagram account of her 19-year-old daughter, Kai. In the clip, she said her recent test results "came back clear, so I'm finally cancer-free." She has five children with Trump Jr, the eldest son of President Donald Trump.

Kai Trump wrote in the caption that the video previews a longer YouTube release planned for Saturday. In it, mother and daughter discuss breast cancer awareness and prevention.

"October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about early detection, education, and support for those affected by breast cancer," Kai Trump wrote. She added that she sat down with her mother and Dr. Nicole Saphier to talk about the journey and to learn more about prevention and early detection.

The post drew more than 20,000 likes and hundreds of comments from people offering support and good wishes. Among them was American singer and media personality Mary Millben.

In Friday's video, Vanessa Trump said she was first diagnosed in April. She made the diagnosis public in May, writing in a social media post that she had undergone surgery and was working on a treatment plan with her medical team.

Trump separated from Trump Jr in 2018. Last year she announced that she had begun dating US pro golfer Tiger Woods.

The American Cancer Society says the average risk of a woman in the US developing breast cancer is about 1 in 8, or 13%. The group also reports that the disease accounts for 30% of all new female cancers each year.

Surgery cures most breast cancers. Where some disease remains, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and endocrine therapy can lower the long-term risk. Treatment continues to advance, with more targeted therapies for early breast cancer, new types of hormonal therapy, and more precise and effective radiotherapy.
